Health Update

Charley’s Dad actually had a stroke. He now has a pacemaker to regulate his heart. He came through the surgery with flying colors and now has to do therapy for issues caused by the stroke. He is doing very well and is living at the Lowman Home Nursing Center while doing the therapy. We are not sure at this point in time how long he will be staying at the Nursing Center. He is already showing progress and seems to be determined to making his recovery happen as quickly as possible. He is a remarkable 93 year old!!

Our travels remain on hold for now.

Change in Plan

Charley’s 93 year old Dad is in the hospital and having some tests done to determine why his balance and memory are having problems. He may have to have a pacemaker also. We have placed our travel plans on hold until we know that he is okay. He has always had excellent health so we are hopeful that this is just something that is happening due to his age and that it will all be easily corrected.

Updates will be posted as we know more.

We are starting the detail plan!!

We are beginning to put together our plan for our upcoming trip and hope to have reservations in place for at least the first few weeks before we leave. One of our biggest chores will be to get the 5er and our truck all cleaned up and hope that all the SC pollen comes off!! :-)

We are looking at a route that will take us up through the Smoky Mountains, then over to Lexington, KY (horse country – Sherry loves horses), and then across Tennessee. After that we are hoping to be able to stop when we get ready and not have reservations in advance. We will have to see how that goes and be prepared with a backup plan if we need it. This excludes Tornado Alley of course. We will be getting across that part of the country as fast as we can!!

Took care of grandparent duties over the weekend. Charley went to grandson’s baseball game and Sherry went to granddaughter’s dance recital on Saturday. Oh, do we remember the days when we had all of this going on for our two!!?? You bet we do!!

Stay tuned.

Happy Mother’s Day

We hope everyone who reads our blog had a wonderful Mother’s Day yesterday, especially my Mom. What a special day. Not only did I get to spend time with my son and daughter, I also had all three grandchildren and their Mom as well. So glad that we had our schedule arranged so that we could be here for that!! It is so nice to be able to spend time with them all as a family. The only one missing was my son-in-law Lee. He is in Las Vegas so he has a pretty good excuse!!

We will be going to visit my Mom on Thursday of this week to celebrate a late Mother’s Day with her.

Looks like our next adventure will begin on June 1!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

RVThereYet Link

We have added a link to the RVThereYet website to our blog. We are hoping that this will increase the hits that we are currently experiencing and provide us with access to additional information that may be helpful to us as fulltimers.

May is Here!!

We have continued to take care of doctor appointments and finally finished these up today. Hurray!!

Going to grandson's baseball games and granddaughter's dance performances while working on getting a few things for the 5er and our upcoming trip. We are really beginning to get excited about this trip and all that we hope to see on our meandering way to Yellowstone. Still planning to get started in early June but no exact date yet.

Stay tuned!!
