Busy, busy, busy!!

What a week it has been! Since we got back we have been involved in something every day with family. The weekend was spent visiting, shopping and eating with the kids, including our daughter and son-in-law who spent the weekend with us.

And this week it is going to be busy with doctors! And we are supposed to be RETIRED!! What is going on here?

Seriously, we have been busy but it has been fun with more to come!!

We’re Back!

We arrived back at our son’s house at around 12:30 on Tuesday. Got the 5er all set up and then waited for the grandkids to get home from school. Boy, was that special!! They couldn’t stop hugging and telling us they were glad we were back. All three look as if they have grown a bunch while we were gone.

Cheyenne was also glad to see the kids and their two dogs, Bella and Abby. She played so hard she could hardly move on Wednesday!!

It has been a busy week. Hopefully we will be able to get some rest over the weekend.

Later!!

On Our Way to SC

We left Summerdale, AL at 7:00AM this morning and arrived at 3:00PM (actually 4:00 because we went back to eastern time). It has been a long day!! We are at Stone Mountain Park near Atlanta and will be leaving in the morning for the last leg of our trip back to SC.

This is a really nice, gated park. They have a lake, a golf course, campground and many other amenities that we will not be able to check out. It is a Passport America Park in case anyone has an interest in staying here someday.

We are all exhausted, including Cheyenne even though she slept for most of the trip.

Cannot wait to see those three grandkids of ours tomorrow!! And our kids too, of course….Red heart

Will update again soon!!

Quiet, Peaceful Days

We really like this park (Rainbow Plantation). It is very quiet, peaceful and well maintained. The sites are very large and level.

We drove to the Gulf coast yesterday and checked it out a little. The one thing we DO NOT like about the Gulf coast is that they do not allow pets on the beaches AT ALL!! At least in SC they will allow you to take your pets on the beach early morning and late afternoon. So we didn’t get to walk on the beach at all.

Today we made a trip to Camping World (after going to IHOP for breakfast) and picked up a couple of things we needed. Then we came back and relaxed until time to make dinner. Took Cheyenne for a couple of walks too. She is so funny. When we are walking her she picks up her leash in her mouth and appears to be walking us!! Rolling on the floor laughing

Tomorrow, we will be starting to pack up to leave for SC Monday morning. Planning to travel to around the halfway point (near Atlanta) and then finish the trip on Tuesday.

May not be updating the blog much until we get back on the road around April 8-9 to head for the RV-Dreams Rally.

Rainbow Plantation

We arrived in Summerdale, Alabama at the Escapees park, Rainbow Plantation, at around 12:30 central time yesterday. We had both forgotten what a nice park this is. The sites are so large and there are well placed trees for shade without interfering with satellite reception. We will enjoy our few days here.

We did not feel like cooking dinner last night so we decided to go back to Lambert’s (home of throwed rolls). The food there is pretty good, nothing exceptional,  but the entertainment makes it worthwhile.

Below are a few pictures from our trip here and our visit to Lambert’s.

On the Road to Rainbow Plantation

We left Rock Crusher Canyon RV Park at around 10:00 this morning and arrived in Quincy, FL at the Beaver Lake RV Park around 2:30. We had a couple of stops on the way.

This park was at the halfway point to Rainbow Plantation in Gulf Shores, AL. It is very small but right off of I10 so convenient. It is also a Passport America park and that is always nice.

Charley had to fix a tail light on the 5er after we got here. For some reason it quit working and then just popped out when he tried to get it working before we left Rock Crusher. So we traveled here with only one tail light. But we made it. And it is fixed now so no more worries about that. So glad my Charley is mechanically inclined!!

We plan to complete our trip to Gulf Shores tomorrow. Not sure why but we are both exhausted this afternoon. Guess maybe it is because we haven’t really traveled for a month??? Or maybe just the anticipation of being back on the road??? Oh well, we are resting tonight so maybe all will be well in the morning. If we could just get Cheyenne to want to rest too!!

A Road Trip To Rainbow Springs State Park

We went on a short road trip yesterday to Rainbow Springs State Park and we are so glad we did. It is a beautiful park built around headsprings with lots of natural gardens. The pictures we took do not really do it justice but we tried.

And I have to brag on my wonderful husband for making my birthday very special yesterday!! He basically waited on me all day and didn’t let me do a thing!! I could get used to this!!

Enjoy the pictures!
