Well, Guess What??

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas!! We did but boy are we ever having a bad time right now!!

It is a rather long story but here goes…..

We are currently sitting in the lot of Brown’s RV, where we purchased our 5er. We had a leak in our gray tank that had to be repaired which we attempted to take care of before Christmas. We found that the leak in the gray tank had not been repaired after all. And the galley tank drain line had been cut in two. Charley asked why that line was cut and, as it turns out, they replaced the galley tank and not the gray tank!!! So all the water that was used in the kitchen sink went straight onto the ground!!

We never said a word about anything being wrong with the galley tank! The valve for the galley tank is now leaking and has to be replaced. A replacement is being overnighted so that it can be installed tomorrow.

This afternoon, since they already had our gray tank replacement, they installed that one. After checking on it, since the underbelly had been left off so it could dry out, Charley found that it was leaking!! He quickly went back to the service department and told them that they needed to check it. The tech found a hole in the “NEW” tank and another leak around the valve that could easily be fixed. However, now another tank has to be ordered – so another trip back to Brown’s RV will be necessary when we can get here from NC.

Let’s hope that the valve has no problems when it gets here!!

So we will be staying here probably through tomorrow night and leaving for NC Friday morning as planned. Brown’s has been told that we have to leave Friday for NC.

Charley keeps calling it an adventure!! I am here to tell you that this is NO adventure!! Smile

All I want is for our 5er to be all well again!!

  6. Oh crum...how awfully frustrating. Yeah, these adventures are always a lot more fun to look back on than they are sometimes in the process. Good luck on the repairs!

  7. If you were to tell them you'll get it fixed at another Keystone authorized dealer at their expense or back to the factory. I'd be willing to bet they get-r-done right real quick.

Most of us are retired and dealers take advantage of that. They just figure we have all the time in the world, Just hurry up and wait. They are messing with your home and your time.

    It's about time.

  8. Oh, not good! Don't think I would want to use that repair facility again. Tell them you are a blogger and LOTS of people are reading about their poor service right now!

  9. Ah the wonders of RV service. We sat for a week at Duncan RV Service last summer waiting for minor work to be completed. Happy hour consisted of talking to others in the lot experiencing endless frustration over delayed repairs both minor and major. I am not sure why the RV service industry doesn't get it. In the auto service industry that kind of result would put a dealer out of business in short order.

  10. Unbelievable! It's amazing how many of these RV Service centers never bother to check their repairs before considering things fixed. They sure make the old saying 'buyer beware' one to live by.

  11. It is so scarey when something goes wrong with our MH. We never know if we are getting a good or not-so-good service. So sorry that your experience had to be a not-so-good one. Good luck with all your repairs.

  12. I'm sorry but Charley's definition of an "adventure" is quite different from mine. I'd call what you're going thru a nightmare. I hope all the bad luck ends in 2011 and 2012 is a great one.
